When in Memphis, you go to two places for sure. You go to Graceland, and you go to Beale Street. Beale Street is a lot like Burbon Street; only more musical and less frat boy. Lots of history in the area, and it's right along the Mississippi River. There seems to be a lovely park near the river; but we have spent a great deal of time along and on the river that we were not facinated enough to investigate it further. We had a lovely, wonderful lunch at the Spaghetti Warehouse...lots of yummy food, great service and interesting atmosphere.
