Granville, MA: Prospect Mountain Campgrounds
We decided to make a wee detour in our trip to Granville, as it was close to the Connecticut border, so we could meet up with Vincent's son, Paul. We chose the "Prospect Mountain Campground" because you could "prospect for gems". Turns out, that was a total bust... trucked in bags of dirt you wash off in water. Dirt NOT from Mount Sodom (where we were). SO, I bypassed that activity, because I knew we were on our way to Herkimer, NY where we really could mine for gems, double terminated crystals with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness. We both enjoyed seeing Paul again. He brought with him his new girlfriend. They spent all day with us; and we very much enjoyed seeing them. Here are some photos of the area and of Paul.
